Parenting Mindfully While Sheltering in Place

We are living in an unprecedented time which challenges our family’s cohesion and individual and family needs – trying to balance work, manage our apprehension, engage in mindful self-care all while providing an impactful learning and loving environment for our children. Many of my clients have asked:

  • How do I maintain and expand my child’s development while sheltering in place?
  • How do I keep my child engaged in their educational goals?
  • What can I do as a parent to minimize the impact of educational lapse?
  • What structure does my child and family need to peacefully co-exist?

Karla Lee Kuester, Child Development Specialist, is available to consult via voice/video chat with families regarding these questions and other challenges. She will meet your family’s needs through conversation, observation and intervention to:

  • Develop a road map for at-home structure and activities to manage new behaviors that may occur during this stressful time
  • Meet your children’s emotional, educational and social development needs in fun and nurturing ways through interactive collaborative games and activities available for parents’ use
  • Maintain and build your child’s self-confidence while away from school by developing appropriate academic skills
  • Develop family-specific practices to reduce anxiety using mindfulness techniques and Brain Gym exercises
  • Maintain and expand your child’s study skills and critical thinking for enrichment/remediation while at home
  • Structure multi-age learning activities to address individualized goals and grade-levels

Contact Karla for individual/family consultation (typical/atypical development), group presentations, lectures, parent-teacher conferences. Hourly and group rates. HIPAA confidentiality rules will be strictly respected.
